How do we find the right defoamer for your process?

How do we find the right defoamer for your process?

Here are some of the questions we want to answer when starting the defoamer selection process:

  1. What is the primary cause of foam generation?
  2. Is there a primary agent causing the foam?
  3. Where is the foam occurring?
  4. What is the process temperature?
  5. What is the pH?
  6. What are the regulatory requirements?
  7. Are there religious requirements?
  8. Do we need to consider downstream processes?
  9. Are there any chemistries that are not allowed?
  10. Do you have a defoamer addition system?

Organic Defoamer Group – Antifoams and Defoamers for the Fermentation Industry

Organic Defoamer Group carries a full line of antifoams and defoamers for the fermentation industry.  ODG produces silicone, synthetic and ester based products for use in a wide range of fermentation processes.  Whether your process is aerobic or anaerobic, whether your media is fungal, bacterial or mammalian, whether you are working at the laboratory scale or filling rail cars; we have the defoamer to fit your process.  ODG’s fermentation defoamers are non-toxic to fermentation media and do not inhibit oxygen transfer.

Ethanol Products Including Antiscalant Formulas, Dispersants, Defoamers and More

Within the scope of fermentation, Organic Defoamer Group has worked extensively with the fuel and beverage ethanol industries.

In wet corn milling we produce defoamers for the millhouse that control foam in starch – gluten separation.  We also produce multiple defoamer formulations for ethanol fermentation.  We enjoy testing multiple defoamer chemistry types before specifying a product for your plant.  ODG also makes several defoamers for use in distillation columns.

In the dry grind ethanol facility we supply defoamers for CIP applications as well as fermentation.  We also produce antiscalant formulas and dispersants for the control of organic and inorganic scale and “beerstone” in your process.  We have defoamers for distillation.  We also provide ammonia and urea for fermentation nutrients.

ODG works with advanced biofuels/cellulosic ethanol manufacturers in defoamers as well as surfactants for use in pulp processing.
